Kapolei is the best place to own a home in Hawaii, at least, that’s what a report from the consumer finance website NerdWallet.com says.
The six-page report lists the top 10 places to buy a home in Hawaii. Rounding out the top 10 are Oahu’s Ocean Pointe in Ewa Beach, Maui’s Waihee-Waiehu, Oahu’s West Loch Estate, Ewa Villages and Mililani Mauka, the Big Islands’s Kalaoa; Oahu’s Ewa Gentry; the Big Island’s Hawaiian Paradise Park and Oahu’s Waikele.
The report looked at inventory, affordability and growth in each of the areas. It studied 49 neighborhoods that had at least 5,000 residents.
“Kapolei has plenty of beaches, and it’s also home to the West Oahu campus of the University of Hawaii,” the report says. “In 2017, a new rail line is set to open, which will ultimately connect Kapolei and Honolulu.”
